A Cool Wave of Color surfers

Greg MacGillivray’s first full-length film, and perhaps the strangest surf movie in history, A Cool Wave of Color, came out in 1964. It incorporated the best of three years of filming by MacGillivray (who was also completing high school at the time) in an all artful, all California, all hot-dogging film because Greg disliked big-wave survival surfing which lacked style and grace.
