In his second film, The Performers (1965), Greg MacGillivray tried to bring more of a story to his photographic treatment of performance surfing starring Richard Chew, Bob Limacher and Mark Martinson. The film follows the adventures of the surfers as they explore Maui, Oahu, Mexico, Florida and California, and was praised for its lively adventure and photographic creativity.
